To help her son recover from what they both deemed: 'school burn out' and kick off their homeschooling year, a friend of mine, and her son, started a blog, My Chatter Zone: http://mychatterzone.blogspot.com/. The intention behind the blog was for her son to rebuild his writing skills. I'm not sure if he types them, but he narrates all the content of the posts.
