We have now officially moved on from our Make Your Own (MYO) Playdough Project and next up is cutting and pasting. We have a bunch of great activities we are intending to do to help us with this insha' Allah, after we have had as many sessions as we need to explore the concept of cutting and pasting.
First up are two 'story extension' activities from @DebChitwood via Twitter, who found them on: http://www.kiboomu.com
1. Read One Snowy Night by M. Christina Buther.
Story Extension Cut and Paste Activity: http://www.kiboomu.com/2011/12/26/alphabet-letter-i-is-for-igloo-craft/
2. Read The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats (a longtime favorite of the Professors, Masha' Allah)
Story Extension Cut and Past Activity: http://www.kiboomu.com/2011/12/27/easy-hot-chocolate-craft/ I'm generally opposed to using food in activities that are not food based, so instead of using mini marshmallows, I am going to insha' Allah dream up a TBD substitute.
Our third activity, and one that will help us with our informal Cut and Paste sessions insha' Allah is this activity from the Preschool Playbook blog (scroll past the My Coloring Book pictures): http://www.preschoolplaybook.com/2012/01/taking-home-color-books.html
Our fourth and final activity comes from the Habeebee Homeschooling blog: http://habeebeehomeschooling.wordpress.com/2011/11/15/circle-collages/
So that's what we'll insha' Allah be up to Reggio wise/craft wise around here until further notice : ).
